Alvaro ParenteAlvaro Parente showed today all his talent, after dominating from flag to flag the first GP2 race of the Belgian Formula 1 Grand Prix, scoring his second win the category and Ocean Racing Technology’s first.

A remarkable exhibition, yesterday, permitted him to start this afternoon from the pole-position which launched him to an imperial level in today’s race, leading every lap bar the one in which pitted. His superiority was clear to all to see and, after the race, he could add to his C.V. a win, a pole-position and a fastest lap.

“I didn’t start very well, because of a new clutch set-up, but the car was very well balanced”, began to say the twenty-four years old, that added: “I was very fastest, especially in the middle sector, and I started to gain an advantage to the pack and, with a good pit-stop from the team, I started to control the race and the gap for Nico Hulkenberg. When the Safety-Car came out, Nico was nearer, but I maintained a strong pace without taking too many risks, because there was such much oil on the track and it was easy to make a mistake”.

With two laps to go, the Safety-Car came out again, after the Stefano Coletti big shunt, but Alvaro Parente crossed the finishing line soon after, conquering his second GP2 win and giving to Ocean Racing Technology its first success.

The twenty-four years old driver, who is now sixth in the drivers’ standings, was deeply happy with today’s result, but his thoughts are already in tomorrow’s race. “It was fantastic to win this race and be able to offer to Ocean Racing Technology its first victory. However, now we have to focus in tomorrow’s race. I’ll start from eighth and I’ll give my best to reach another strong result”, underlined with confidence the driver supported by Soccerade, Delta, TMN, Aurora Group, Geotur and Cision.
