Joachim RitterIn Sunday’s Michelin Ginetta G50 Cup action, TCR’s drivers all had incidents of one type or another with both races proving to be tricky. The best result came with an excellent top five result for Joachim Ritter during round 24, three places ahead of Fulvio Mussi who was forced to pit midway through with damage. Carl Breeze was involved in contact early on which led to a retirement.

In round 25, Mussi was the best-placed of the drivers with a sixth place finish, two spots ahead of Breeze who again had a trying race. The latter did produce the pass of the day though when running around the outside of Colin White from Pif-Paf, along Steel Straight, through Gracelands and then making the move stick at Tarzan Hairpin. Ritter, meanwhile, finished in 11th position.

Brookes added: “Other than Joachim’s top five in the first race, Sunday was a very difficult day for the Ginetta team. We’re not sure why everything seemed to go wrong but that’s the way it goes sometimes. It’s very unfortunate but we plan to be back stronger in two weeks and get back to the front where we should be.”

The final two rounds of the ELF Renault Clio Cup and the last three races of the Michelin Ginetta G50 Cup will take place a fortnight from now, 3rd/4th October, at Brands Hatch Grand Prix Circuit in Kent.
