Stefano BizzarriStefano Bizzarri will be on the grid of the Budapest Auto GP round, starting next Friday at Hungaroring. The Italian driver, who actually lies 2nd in the standings of the International GT Open GTS Class driving a Ferrari 458 Italia, found an agreement with Ombra Racing to take part in the Hungarian event.

For Bizzarri it’s a comeback, as in 2010 Stefano contested the whole inaugural season of Auto GP, his first one on a high-powered single seater; before that he had clinched 3rd place overall in the 2009 International F3 Open after a wonderful season with 1 win and five podium finishes.

Born in 1990 in Seattle, Bizzarri is 21 years old so he will be a contender for the points of the Under 21 Trophy, making the fight between the young guns of the Series even harder.

Stefano Bizzarri: “I’m really happy to be back on the Auto GP car, the most impressive car I’ve driven in my career so far. In 2010 my aim was making some experience, being careful to avoid mistakes and put as many miles as possible under my belt. In Budapest it will be different, I will push as much as I can to make the most of this chance and understand where I am compared to the competition, that is really tough”.

Davide Mazzoleni: “We are following Stefano’s career since the times of his great performances in F3, so we are really happy to have him with us in Budapest. We know that he’s missing some time in the car compared to his rivals who already contested the official tests and one event, but he knows the car well so we’re sure that he will be quickly on the pace. From our side we will give our best to give him a quick car, knowing that he has the talent to make the most of it”.
