The GP3 season gets back underway this weekend in Belgium for rounds 11 and 12 of the 2011 GP3 Series and Carlin drivers Conor Daly, Leonardo Cordeiro and Callum Macleod will be looking to continue to improve their form.

Last time out in Budapest young American Daly was the quickest of the Carlin drivers during qualifying and finished well, albeit outside the points, during the second race of the weekend. Although no points for Carlin in Hungary the car was strong in race conditions – especially in the wet weather.

The drivers now look ahead to the incredible Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium. The longest on the 2011 calendar this track boasts an amazing array of difficult corners and flat out straights. The drivers will tackle infamous corners such as Eau Rouge and will also have to deal with the ever-changing weather conditions that this unique track provides.

Talking about his feelings going to Spa, Conor Daly said, “I’m very much looking forward to Spa, we have the potential to do well there. We’ve worked on a lot of things during the break and over the season which we saw work in Hungary’s qualifying session.

“We know what we have to do and we know that the car is good in race trim. We have to focus on finishing in the points and then the podium.”

Racing Director Trevor Carlin added, “Spa is a great event for young drivers and for those that have never experience Spa before – such as Conor – it is a great opportunity to race on one of the most famous circuits in the world. Although we’re disappointed not to have scored more points this season, progress has been made and we look forward to fighting in the points this weekend in Belgium.”
