Scuderia VittoriaScuderia Vittoria look set to up the ante this weekend as they join an expected grid of 30 cars at Silverstone for the penultimate round of the Avon Tyres British GT Championship (8/9 September).

The leading London based team return to the Northamptonshire venue where they challenged for the championship in their debut season just 12 months ago, with 2011 GT3B Champion’s Aaron Scott and John Dhillon behind the wheel of the notorious Ferrari 458 challenger, brimming with confidence ahead of the championships 3-hour race.

Scott and Dhillon excelled last time out at Snetterton 300 to bag a second top six finish in as many meetings, as they adapt to life in the main GT3 class for 2012.

Scott, a renowned front-runner on the GT racing scene, has emerged as the highest placed Ferrari driver of late, running as high as third position in race two, last time out at the Norfolk venue.

As the ultra competitive championship approaches Silverstone this weekend, Scott remains optimistic that forward progression can be made as the season draws to a close.

“I’m feeling super confident ahead of the weekend,” explained Scott. “Scuderia Vittoria have provided us with an exceptional car, so I’m confident that we can deliver a strong result this weekend, it would certainly be nice as it feels like I am visiting a home circuit due to being a BRDC member.”

“The 3-hour race will be a huge team effort for us this weekend, and I really think that we can push on after testing at Donington last week prior to the race.”

Dhillon, the second half of the 2011 GT3B championship winning combination, has been hard at work in preparation for the weekend’s penultimate round. After a positive test at Donington Park last week, a relatively inexperienced Dhillon, feels that he is learning continuously as he chases a maiden podium finish to add to his racing CV.

“We come to Silverstone this weekend in very good shape after testing at Donington Park last week,” explained Dhillon. “I’m feeling very fit and every time I get into the car I feel like I am learning considerable amounts.”

“This season is still about learning the car, but if a break through weekend comes our way then that will be a brilliant result to take away with us.”
