Facu RegaliaThe Argentine driver is going to test with two of the most successful teams contesting in the series, iSport and Racing Engineering, during the test sessions celebrated at Circuit de Catalunya later this month. It´s another step forward for the Argentina´s driver, whose motorsport career is managed by Adrián Campos, and after taking part in Auto GP and European F3 Open in 2012.

Facu Regalia is approaching another challenge during his motorsport career, because he will make his debut at the wheel of a Dallara GP2/11-Renault, the car used in the GP2 series and the previous step for every driver before F1. The 20 years-old driver will test with two successful teams such as iSport and Racing Engineering. After his good results over the course of 2012 season, both teams have a keen interest in Regalia to test their cars. The Argentine pilot will test with iSport, the team led by Paul Jackson and winner with Timo Glock in 2007, on Tuesday and with Racing Engineering, another former winner team with Giorgio Pantano, on Wednesday.

Pechito López was the last Argentina´s driver participating a full season in the GP2 and this is the goal for Facu Regalia in 2013. Drivers such as Lewis Hamilton, Nico Rosberg, Pastor Maldonado, Romain Grosjean, Timo Glock, Sergio Pérez, Nelson Piquet Jr, Bruno Senna, Heikki Kovalainen, Vitaly Petrov or Lucas di Grassi.

“After this hard year for us, competing in two different championships, Auto GP and European F3 Open, our victory in Hungary in Formula 3 and other podium finishes at Brands Hatch, Paul Ricard or
Nürburgring proved my skills as a racing driver. I clinched podium finishes in Auto GP too at Cheste and Hungaroring rounds. Now I´ve a nice opportunity to test a GP2 car, and I can´t explain how happy I am and my motivation right now. I want to show my progress as a driver during the recent years”, Regalia explained after his confirmation for the test days. Last but not at least, “I am grateful to have this chance and there are many people helping me: my family, Adrián Campos and friends and fans both in Argentina and Europe. I know how difficult GP2 is, it´s the highest level behind F1, and there are plenty of drivers with experience taking part. Anyway my target is to give my best and prove my skills. Concerning iSport and Racing Engineering, I know they are winners and their racing backgrounds show it. GP2 is my goal for next year, and this test is our first step to take”.
