The 2013 Mexican Super Touring Car Championship began this Saturday with a tremendous victory of Jorge Colin on the 1st Heat. Colin gave a great spectacle and enrolls himself as one of the principal contenders to the 2013 title.
With the first 32 minute heat, the driver of #13 Advanced Clutch Technology Audi defeated on track both 2011 and 2012 Champions Jorge Jimenez Jr. and Roberto Fernandez on a race full of excitement from the beginning to the end of the race.
‘It was an awesome race, we had a big fight from the start to the end of the race. I’ve lost the first place on the beginning of the race, but I could pass Gerardo Sanz, Jorge Jimenez and Fernandez
at the middle of the race and reach my first win of 2013. The team made a great job and I have an awesome car, I hope to be as strong as the first heat on the next one to earn many points on this
first round of the 2013 season’, Colin said, who also won the pole position of the race with a 1.555 gap to the second place.
Jimenez and Fernandez got the 2nd and 3rd place, leaving the Guinness Record Winner Gerardo Sanz, who lead some minutes of the race, but the tough rhythm of the race didn’t permited Sanz to mantain on the lead.
The race had 54 cars on the grid with more than 15,000 spectators.
