Jorge ColinThe driver of the Audi # 13 had a weekend with high effectiveness, with Mexican Diego Ortega’s first victory ever on the MSTCC on heat 1 and Leonardo Colin’s first victory of the year on the second heat, Jorge Colin remained at the podium, to thereby keep leading the championship with 390 units.

The largest grid ever of the MSTCC history, 65 cars, marked start the second round of the Championship. Jorge Colin had an impressive duel with Diego Ortega in the first heat, where nobody gave any space and after a great- clean duel and 35 minutes of running, Ortega was the driver who stayed with the victory, leaving in second place Jorge Colin and third to the reigning champion, Roberto Fernandez. Colin said: ‘One of the best races I’ve had, failed to win, but I emphasize the tremendous duel with Diego Ortega, a great driver that comes with everything and we were turned back with a super clean and polite fight for first place. The championship is starting, it’s a good result and the main thing is to maintain consistency to score points and hopefully get the championship. For the second race, things did not change much, being Diego Ortega and Jorge Colin the ones that began to move away from the pack early, the new surprise that joined them was Leonardo Colin, who with an impressive rhythm showed his experience passing Ortega and his brother Jorge to end up winning the heat 2, which ended with a red flag due to a big wreck involving Kurk Herrera, Roberto Fernandez, Dionisio Uribe, Victor Hugo Zavala, Victor Colotla, among others.

With an attendance of 17,319 people, the Mexican Super Touring Championship Race 2 comes to an end. The next race will be June 1 and 2 at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez racetrack, along with the Panam GP and TC2000 Cup.

Jorge Colin announces to be ready for the second round of 2013 Mexican Super Touring Car Championship. The driver of the Advanced Clutch Technology Audi is looking forward to cross the checkered flag on first place again after getting the complete winning combo last March with 2 victories, 1 pole position and 2 fastest laps. Colin is actually the leader of the championship standings with 215 points.

The winner of the first round comes motivated hoping to make a good race this weekend. México City’s driver Jorge Colin; ‘I’m ready for the next round of the MSTCC, the team worked a lot to have the car ready to expect another victory. We hope to continue our momentum and be constant this season. After making a test at Pachuca Racetrack last week, Colin reports being ready for this weekend’s Mexican Super Touring Car Championship race. Don’t forget to be there this April 27th and 28th. MSTCC will be supported by TC2000 and Telcel Super Cup at Hermanos Rodriguez legendary racetrack.

Jorge ColinMexican driver Jorge Colin showed to more than 15,000 people all the experience he earned on his career by winning the race 2 of the beginning of the 2013 Mexican Super Touring Car season on the Hermanos Rodriguez Racetrack.

In a dramatic finish of the race, Colin and the 2012 Champion Roberto Fernandez of the URREA Tools team came to the last lap by a 0.024 gap and after crossing the 4.053km Circuit, all the drama came on the last curve, the famous Peraltada, where Colin used his experience and excellent car setting to leave Fernandez on second place and reach his second victory of the 2013 season. Colin takes the lead of the championship standings with 200 points.

‘It’s been one of the most competitive races of my career, at the end I get 2 victories and couldn’t be happier. My team gave me a great car and Fernandez gave a great race too, the last lap was so exciting! I know I am in good shape to fight for the championship’, said Jorge Colin.

‘The race was won by the best driver, Jorge drove excellent and I couln’t defeat him. The public enjoyed the show. Now I have time to get ready for the next race, I’ll work to beat him’ said Fernandez, the 2012 Champion on the URREA Tools BMW.

Jorge ColinThe 2013 Mexican Super Touring Car Championship began this Saturday with a tremendous victory of Jorge Colin on the 1st Heat. Colin gave a great spectacle and enrolls himself as one of the principal contenders to the 2013 title.

With the first 32 minute heat, the driver of #13 Advanced Clutch Technology Audi defeated on track both 2011 and 2012 Champions Jorge Jimenez Jr. and Roberto Fernandez on a race full of excitement from the beginning to the end of the race.

‘It was an awesome race, we had a big fight from the start to the end of the race. I’ve lost the first place on the beginning of the race, but I could pass Gerardo Sanz, Jorge Jimenez and Fernandez
at the middle of the race and reach my first win of 2013. The team made a great job and I have an awesome car, I hope to be as strong as the first heat on the next one to earn many points on this
first round of the 2013 season’, Colin said, who also won the pole position of the race with a 1.555 gap to the second place.

Jimenez and Fernandez got the 2nd and 3rd place, leaving the Guinness Record Winner Gerardo Sanz, who lead some minutes of the race, but the tough rhythm of the race didn’t permited Sanz to mantain on the lead.

The race had 54 cars on the grid with more than 15,000 spectators.
